The brief it came from

“A food delivery app for independent local restaurants: a home feed of kitchens nearby, a restaurant's menu, a dish with its options, the basket and checkout, live order tracking with the courier, and past orders to reorder. Use photos of the food, at most eight in the whole app, and initials instead of faces.”

Tappy planned and designed Corner Table from that one brief, at the Atelier level with design review on. The art direction it set itself, in short:

Corner Table should feel like the neighbourhood itself: warm, unhurried, a little chalkboard-and-paper, built for people who would rather order from the Vietnamese place on the corner than a chain. Hero material is the food and the kitchens: the seven photos in the app run edge to edge at generous heights with no overlays except a tiny caption strip, and every kitchen without a photo gets a square surface-2 tile with its initials in display type, so the grid still reads as a row of shopfronts.
